IMPORTANT - You want a fine sugar for your lips as too coarse can be painful. Staying hydrated is the best thing you can do for your lips. Half your weight in ounces of water daily is ideal.
Fall and winter bring dry chapped lips. Lip balm isn't always enough to combat this.
This is a simple lip scrub to help exfoliate your lips and moisturize at the same time. Gather together your two ingredients and little bowl.
Put six teaspoons of sugar with one tablespoon of coconut oil and mix until blended.
It should look something like this.
Take a finger tip of scrub and get ready to exfoliate.
Scrub a dub dub...
If you have extremely chapped lips you can scrub softly with a soft toothbrush. ( do not use a firm toothbrush or press super hard! You will damage your lips. )
Leave on your lips for 2-5 mins... Try not to lick it off!
After that time feel free to lick it off!
Though I ended up wiping it off with a wet paper towel.
And I was left with soft lips and no icky dry skin.
Next we take lip balm and apply to our lips. Chapstick, etc. I used Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips ( I got it at sephora )
Now be sure to save your scrub. Place in a covered container and keep in a cool place. It's ready to use the next time you need to exfoliate!
