I got mostly canned supplies at Safeway.
Mix the ground beef and sausage together and brown. Then use a colander to drain the fat. Set aside in your sauce pot.
Chop onions, drain and chop mushrooms, and scoop prepared garlic or chop your own, about 2 tablespoons
Sauté the onions, garlic and mushrooms until the onions start to look clear and smooth.
Add onions mushrooms and garlic to the meat.
Add sauce, paste and diced tomatoes.
Add salt seasoning and bay leaves (DO NOT add the Basil yet) Cook on low to Medium for at least an hour. I cooked mine for 2 and a half.
(Note: You can cook it for less time than an hour, but if you do leave out the bay leaf. They need a little time to add their flavor.)
Boil noodles with a pinch of salt for flavor and to help the water boil faster.
Once the spaghetti is cooked remove the sauce and noodles from the heat.
At the last minute you can chop the Basil and add it to the sauce. If you add the basil when the sauce is too hot, you loose a lot of its sweetness.
Add cheese and enjoy.
